Fido Follies 2008

Every dog has its day at Florissant's 'Fido Follies'

Patches and Harley Marie were the smallest and largest of the dozens of dogs that participated Sunday in the "Fido Follies" at Florissant's Old Town Fall Festival.

Yet they and many of their canine compatriots shared a trait that some of their excited owners lacked - an ability to relax.

The dogs came in all shapes, sizes and varieties. They did what dogs generally do - scratch, sniff and nap.

Most didn't seem to mind as their owners primped them up, combed them down, put them in costumes and prompted a few doggie "kisses."

While not exactly the Westminster Dog Show, the dogs competed for ribbons and plaques for largest, smallest, hairiest, best costumed and "best kisser." The event was coordinated by Baronwood Kennels.
